Opting IN to Your Life (An Introduction)

It’s easy to opt out of life.

To choose the role of the victim or the innocent bystander where life happens to and around you.

I know. I spent decades doing it without realizing it.

And the whole time I knew there was something more-

I just had no idea how to get there.

Enter the Human Game.

My inner critic likes to pipe in here and ask, but how do you know that anything you’re going to say is the truth? We’ll be diving off the deep end into some wild philosophy & honest to goodness god talk. What if they burn you at the stake? What if you’re wrong?

To which I have learned to respond to myself-

Who cares?

Who cares if I’m right? Who cares if I’m wrong?

I’m having more fun playing now, aren’t I?

Ultimately anything one chooses to believe is an opt-in. A choice.

It’s quite hard to be objectively and absolutely right about such things.

They lean heavily on our convictions, our ability to believe in them with our whole being. Some might call this faith.

So, why not place your faith in something interactive and fun?

This series plays with addressing what to me is one of the biggest tragedies of the human experience- our inability to enjoy it, and the daily struggles that ensue.

I don’t know if I’m right. But I do know that these philosophies and games I choose to play make life a hell of a lot more fun in ever-deepening ways.

Ah, perhaps now is a good time to define fun the way I’ll be using it.

  • Fun: feeling fully invested, creatively inspired, and in a state of wonder & possibility.

Want to live more like this?

Come along for the Human Game.

I’ll need help figuring this whole thing out. Want to play together?
